Why rice is good for our skin

Rice contains many vitamins and minerals necessary for our body. Among the first are:

  • vitamin E;
  • vitamin H;
  •  vitamins of group B.

Vitamin E is indispensable for the skin. It helps to recover, regulates the processes of regeneration, cell renewal. Vitamin H is able to slow down aging. Choline and folic acid help skin cells renew themselves.

The micro elements, the following are extremely important: potassium, which “takes” excess water; silicon, which makes our skin firm; selenium, which is a good antioxidant and jokingly referred by doctors as the “most feminine” element. Rice contains 8 amino acids.

Thanks to the presence of all these and many other useful substances, rice helps to maintain the youthfulness of the skin, restores its lost tone. Boiled rice masks, rice flour and rice water masks with the addition of a small amount of milk or sour cream – all these means, long known to Japanese women, are now beginning to gain popularity all over the world.

An important point: rice is saturated with fats, which stimulate the skin’s production of its own collagen. Therefore, cosmetologists recommend using rice for facial rejuvenation for women who have crossed the 30-year age. The first mimic wrinkles will disappear, the skin will shine, as soon as the processes of fading have begun will be reversed.

For older women, rice flour masks will also be of great benefit: wrinkles will become less visible, the contour of the face will be tightened.

What you need to know about making rice masks

To achieve the greatest effect, it is often recommended to use rice flour: when mixed with other ingredients, it does not give lumps, in addition, it does not need to be specially prepared somehow: you just need to mix it with those ingredients that are necessary for the mask.

However, regular rice is fine too. Grinding it in a coffee grinder, we get ground rice. It is included in the recipes for masks for oily skin. For dry skin characterized by high sensitivity, it is advised to use boiled rice – its effect is milder.

The procedure should be carried out approximately 2 times a month.The mask should be kept for 15-20 minutes or half an hour – as indicated in the recipe.

Interesting: it is best to apply the mask on a previously steamed face – this way its effect will be stronger.

For older ladies, it is recommended that instead of steaming, use an active rubbing with an ice cube – this also helps to open the pores.

Rice can be boiled, or you can just grind it raw, you can soak it for several hours in water at room temperature. A finished mask cannot be stored for a long time, so it makes sense to make masks from small portions.

Masks for oily skin with rice

Mix these ingredients:

  • rice (2 tablespoons);
  • milk (1 tablespoon is enough);
  • honey (also a tablespoon).

The rice needs to be boiled, and then, draining the water, add honey and milk to it. All this must be mixed and rubbed so that a kind of puree is obtained. Apply it on a cleansed face, hold it for half an hour, wash it off – preferably with the same rice water that remained after cooking. This rice mask with milk and honey has an antibacterial, soothing and whitening effect. The oily sheen will disappear, the skin will become more even and beautiful.

You can make the same mask with honey with the addition of three drops of any essential oil – it will enhance the effect.
